| ALBION'S SOLAR CYLINDERS
| | 25-11-2004 |
Albion Water Heaters has been granted ClearSkies approval for their new range of ECO cylinders. This means that installations
can be grant-supported to assist in the drive towards greener energy usage in the UK.
Open vented copper cylinders
are perfect for the storage of heat generated by alternative energies such as solar, bio mass and geotherm. Water storage acts
as an accumulator to give hot water on tap when required.
On days when the alternative fuel sources are not available,
for example on very dark December days when solar input is reduced, the cylinder can be heated by traditional means.
This twin-coil approach has been adopted as an efficient means of utilising two fuel sources without waste. Thermostats
ensure that the system is well controlled.
Albion's ECO cylinders are available to meet the demands of most
applications, ranging from 115 Litres to 250 Litres in standard 400mm, 450mm and 500mm diameters.
The Part L
compliant range carries ClearSkies approval number SC2082. The Superduty ECO HE range meets CHeSS best practice, enabling
further savings to be made by optimising fossil fuel inputs and is listed under ClearSkies SC2083.
The Albion ECO
coil is placed near the base of the cylinder ensuring that the full storagr capacity benefits from energy input.
The
revised Part L regulations make much of the need for supplementary solar energy and will be a major stimulus to increased
business in the sector.
As a market leader in hot water storage, Albion are promoting their new ECO cylinders to
users, specifiers and trade stockists.
